PROFILE

American Drafting Service  (ADS) was founded in 1990 in New Orleans, Louisiana.  ADS is owned and  operated by Nathaniel “Nat” Jones.   Mr. Jones has partnered with some  of the most prestigious architectural firms in the country.   Several of  the firms that Mr. Jones has been affiliated with are located in San  Francisco and Oakland, California, Atlanta, Georgia, Dallas, Texas and New Orleans, Louisiana.

Since its founding, ADS has  held the unyielding belief that it must provide one of the most basic  needs (shelter) in a way that nourishes the mind, body and spirit.

ADS is one of the most recognized residential design firms operating in the Southeastern

area of the United States  producing more than 100 units each year.  Additionally, ADS has won  several residential design awards for “Outstanding Design”.

Similarly, ADS is acclaimed  for its religious architecture and has designed over 90 places of  worship and religious affiliated projects.

Another aspect that Mr.  Jones strongly believes is that being born and reared in the New Orleans  area provides him with a unique knowledge and distinctive affinity for  the clients he serves.  New Orleans and the entire Southeast Louisiana  region is akin to an “entirely different country”.  ADS feels that this  kinship provides them an advantage in their design.

ADS has discovered that  oftentimes non-resident designers will arrive in the area and render a  design that inflates the designer’s own ego rather than design for the  client they are actually  representing.  ADS understands that the client  is the reason for being and we respect that.

Mr. Jones is a graduate of  Southern University Agricultural & Mechanical— Baton Rouge,  Louisiana.  He is also a member of the National Association of Minority  Architects.

Notwithstanding, ADS  understands that design can no longer be independent of the changes in  our environment. Each of us must be more aware of ways to respect and  treasure the earth.  It is the only one we will ever have and we should  treat it as such.
